Rotax Supermoto special

Quick bit O history

This site if for all of you that want to make or modify your own Supermoto racing bike, I'll not cover the road legal side of things as my bike is for racing only.

I started being interested in Supermoto a few years ago, I had been racing Grasstrack up to national level since I was 17 and after 14 to .......... years of going up the straight and turning left I was starting to get a little disillusioned.
I'd always raced to enjoy myself and I wasn't enjoying the racing that much anymore, the social side was great with plenty of beer and laughs the night before but the racing was getting a bit repetitive, so time for a change, enter the Gidion D'Or on Eurosport. They showed the whole lot from kids on scooters through to the final, Chambon sliding onto the start-finish straight waving at the crowd, handle bar banging close racing, it had the lot. I thought I've got to have a go at that.

After having a go at the last NORA round of 2000 I converted my old Rotax special with some 17" rims, a brake caliper off a Fireblade and some tires from Craig at Dynotorque I competed in the 2001 NORA championship finishing 18th overall.

For the 2002 season I decided that I wanted to have something different, should I buy a new/used bike or build something?
Me and my dad used to build the Grasstrack bikes we raced as well as for other people, so the decision wasn't that hard for me and after Christmas I set to and started to build a new frame.

Pictures of the building of this frame are on The Bike page.
